In the window

Please view large if you have a moment. Thank you. :-)
Taken in St.Mary's church, Aylesbury old town. The carving is an embellishment on top of a peculiar stone chair thing.
St.Mary's is a proper community church and is open for four or five hours each day during the week. It has a refectory and there are various activities and sometimes lunchtime recitals. And they don't mind the odd photographer. Well, they don't seem to mind this odd photographer, at any rate!

Later edit. I've posted a full b&w version of this in my extras album : http://365project.org/dulciknit/on-the-day-extr/2013-02-28
If anyone fancies a look-see, I'd be grateful for any thoughts about the two versions. Thank you.
This is one for a close view. The carving and window really stand out. It's quite an unusual shape, nice find.

This is absolutely beautiful enlarged. The lines and colors are outstanding. You can feel the age of the church in that stone.

Wow, gorgeous shot

I prefer this version - the colours in the window, especially the red, stand out like jewels against the monochrome.

I like both versions, but, like Janet @janturnbull , I think the selective colouring works really well here.

The colours coming through the stained glass and the fleur de lis are quite fabulous. I really like this, especially enlarged.

@anazad511 @milaniet @janturnbull @girlie @timandelke @sabresun @hamble @sangwann @cimes1 Please excuse the mass tag. Thank you for the views and comments, I'm in a bit of a quandary about how the two versions of this affect the 'look' and your feedback's been very helpful.

This is stunning. I love your work!

the tension has gone in this one, the red takes the eye straight to it and dissolves all the rest. Just my opinion

@sugarmuser Cool - not 'just' but an interesting and helpful observation, thank you.
