If you have a moment it needs viewing large to appreciate all the fun they're having.
It was wet and miserable on Sunday so Lester and I just went to Milton Keynes to do a bit of shopping.
I spotted this scene on the way home and asked Lester to stop the car. It really tickles me; it's so typically English. So what if it's raining? We will enjoy ourselves whether we want to or not!
We've mastered the art of this - we get plenty of opportunity for practice. :-D
I 'enjoyed' myself getting this shot. It was taken from a bridge and I really do not like heights, even the not very high ones.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

@gooner46 Thank you, Chris. It's the only way they can get the anglers to move their fishing rods! There's not a lot of love lost between regular narrowboaters and canalside anglers.
Thanks for showing me something I would never get to see otherwise. Those anglers sure are dedicated. The boats look like something Gypsy's would use when they don't have horses lol
Love the title, words, and image! So typically English and so different from anything around here! The man in the back of the canal boat is posing for you!
So many fishermen in one place, must be a great hole for fishing. I used to love walking along the canals when I used to visit my son when he was in the UK.
Look how long those rods are. Almost unbelievable. You'd think the anglers would spread out a bit. What's a collective of anglers called? I'll have to think on that one. A reel perhaps.
This is so neat! Never underestimate the determination of a fisherman. You caught such great color in such a true to life daily scene. Do love those canal boats of yours.
Great capture, Alison. I saw this last night and decided to wait for the comments to confirm that they really are fishing with those huge rods. Why on earth would they need to be so long? Just asking, as I come from a serious fishing family. Some of them look like they could almost reach the other side with the tip! It all looks very comical with the standoff between boat and fishers and the way they're all huddles so close together. Wonderful shot. (I'm not posting much lately; just popping in from time-to-time to catch up with your delightful shots.)
Thanks, Alison. Yes, all okay, just need to concentrate on other family-related things for a while. Will still keep in touch. Thanks so much for the link. I'll show it to the avid fishermen in the family; very interesting. You never know, they might catch on here.
The fishing poles are so long they might as well just stab the fish with them! The driver of the boat seems unaware of their presence - or did he get shouted at?
Oh no it sailed away;0)
Fabulous British shot,
Hope you're OK?
