Alternative title ...If only the unco-operative so-and-sos hadn't all been flying around over the trees out of shot..
Best viewed large to see the small handful of rooks in all their spectacular glory. Thank you. :)
I spotted this rookery when we were coming home from Evesham on Saturday. It's not very far from us and there were masses of rooks flying around. I thought it would make a pretty sunset shot. Monday looked good for a sunset so I duly drove there after our evening meal. It *was* quite a nice sunset but most of the perishing rooks spent the time the sun was going down flying over the trees rather than in the clear sky. This was about the most of the expletive deleted things that ventured into this part of the scene. Never work with children, animals, or b****y rooks. :-D

It's a beautiful scene. Love the line of trees leading to the sun and beautiful sky. I find those huge nests in the trees quite fascinating, shame the birds didn't come closer for you, isn't it frustrating when this happens.
The sun is in that perfect spot in that dip in the hedgerow. The row of nesting trees leads down to it, and the rooks fly overhead chattering until the last throes of light are gone nehind the horizon. Sounds like a good evening to me.
