Probably better on large view if you have a moment.
Happy New Year, hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
I decided to put my project on hold for a while over Christmas in order to devote more time to my family, then start again in the new year.
This is the view of Pitstone windmill and the mill field from the adjoining car park, taken on a visit today to celebrate a bit of sunshine. I love this place and have posted quite a few photos of it in my project. I haven't been there since August and it seemed only right to go there for the first photo of 2014. Taken today as dated. The time given is the saved after processing time.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

This is such a well composed shot with the framing, the lead in lines and the lovely saturated colours. It sums up the beauty of our countryside on a winters day. Fav for me.
@maggiemae Thank you, Maggie. Oh yes, that's a footpath right across the field and the windmill is a National Trust property which can be viewed outside at any time and is opened up for viewing inside a few Sundays in the summer months.
The composition is so great. I love how the tree trunk feels like it is a bit twisting and then the limbs point down the lane to that windmill. Just fabulous!
Superb composition, yes that tree does point your eye down the path to the windmill. Beautiful countryside scene and it's one for close up. Fav.
(it does look so much better than in the dark)!
And a happy New Year, Alison. Hope the holidays were wonderful. Love your start for the new year - that wind mill is so interesting - would love to see one up close some time. The composition with the tree branch, road, and windmill is lovely. They all go together so nicely.
This is a beautiful shot. I love that old tree with the gnarled trunk. Its branches do seem to point the viewer down the path to the windmill. The composition and lighting are wonderful! A fav, for sure! Welcome back. Hope you enjoyed your time with your family!
Lovely capture :)
