Following on from the previous shot - of the rope walk - this is a detail of one of the trestles that carry the rope yarns whilst they're being plied. The grooves are worn over years by the rotation of the yarns against the wood.
Isn't the wood grain beautiful? Lester and I would have loved to bring the trestle home with us. Couldn't do that, of course, so I took its photo instead.
