Well, I *think* they're hummocks but I'm not sure. If I'm wrong, please tell me, I'd love to know what they're really called. They are grass covered mounds of earth and are firm enough to stand on.
This was taken on the same day as yesterday's post and is part of the field where "my" ELT stands : http://365project.org/dulciknit/365/2013-12-06

Beautiful composition, I have a feeling I have heard something in the past about those hummocks but whatever it was is staying firmly in the past! I love the image.
@chocolatesocks Thank you. Not photo-bombers, this was a shot I'd had in mind but I don't know them either. Fortunately, it's a popular walking area, so it was just a question of waiting for the right time.
So many nice things about this shot - like the b&w - perfect for this - the pov makes this just a little different in the very best way - the action of the two people walking and shooting to catch them where you did - great!
Love the incline with the walkers nicely making their way up there. It does have an isolated feel, made I think by the b/w and sky with those fab clouds and light.

I saw some more of these yesterday in a different location and there was an info board that said they are the nests of Yellow Meadow Ants. I thought you might be interested to know.
I've edited the caption here and put an info. link in.
