This is beautiful - very attractive contrast from sharp - blurred. So nice on the subject and beautifully designed. An example for pictorial intelligence. Love it. Fav!

Absolutely fascinating on black - one of your most interesting b&w abstracts to me.

Great shot and great title, the interplay of light and dark and those steps is fantastic.

very much your trademark style Alison, so clever and fab in mono. I haven't a scooby what it is , which is very much the case with your ababstract's !!!!

Terrific use of light and shade here. Organised enough to create interest. Dark enough to create mystery. Interesting enough to draw the eye. Nice!

Er... I would have just cropped off the top a little. That last hint of light on the right is not enough to off set the increasing dark on the left which is getting a bit heavy. Otherwise a stunning shot.

@netkonnexion Thank you.
I see what you mean about the lack of balance at the top. I seem to remember dodging the top slate on the left in an attempt to minimise that heaviness. But to my eye, cropping seems to create a worse problem : once that first slate (bit of light) on the right has gone, the definition of the top edge of the next slate down against the black seems to make an effect of a partial black border.
I think it looks odd.

Yes, I just checked the RAW file. I dodged the three slates on the top left, in fact. Maybe dodging them a touch more would do it? :-/ What do you think?

I really like this. I wonder if the left hand top slates need to be a bit lighter to balance with those at the bottom. What do I know! Just a thought.

@netkonnexion I decided to have a go at lightening the top slates on the left hand side: http://365project.org/dulciknit/365/2017-01-15
I'd very much appreciate your thoughts if you have a moment.
