Mirror, mirror on the car - who's the fairest spider by far?
This is Arachne. She lives in the wing mirror on the driver's side of my car and spins the most beautiful webs from mirror to door. She's been very busy lately; there are currently two webs. I decided that flash at night would be the best way to capture them. I didn't manage to get both webs but caught Arachne admiring herself in the mirror instead. It was sheer fluke, I didn't realise she was there when I took the shot. I've never seen her before but I've only looked in the daytime; she seems to be nocturnal.

Another brilliant photo! I had a spider that lived in my wing mirror once too. Molly 'very imaginatively' called her Charlotte. She was a bit of a hell raiser though and liked nothing more than coming out onto her web and clinging on for dear life when we travelled at high speeds... :)
