Drove out to an old farmhouse that burned to the ground years ago. It's all gone to ruin and I've wanted to photograph it for ages. It was kind of cool to be out there...a little creepy...I kept wondering if someone was going to show up and wishing I'd brought a friend but the photos are so disappointing. I've been looking at them and playing with them for hours and this is the best I've come up with. I'm tired. Here is my picture of a tractor....not the house, not the barn...a tractor. I think I'll try again on another day.
@cromwell Thank you so much. Was tempted to use filler today but I really didn't want to. The tractor fantastic in context. On the property here are three buildings, four tractors, an old car. It's a great place to be with a camera. I think I rushed a bit...it really was a bit creepy, and it was a very grey day...I wonder if some sunlight and shadows would help. I'm sure there will be some more up later this summer.
I agree with @cromwell - this is an interesting story! I especially love the little flowers growing around those dilapidated tires! I do the same thing, take pictures that I think will be amazing only to be disappointed when I get home because - blah.... Definitely go back! Take a friend next time - maybe you'll be more comfortable and relaxed, which could help :)
I think old tractors make cool shots!!! Love the angle you got on this...it really draws my eye to the pretty little flowers! Great job, but yes take a friend next time!
@cromwell There couldn't be more typos in my first response to you if I tried. I hope you got through it. @wannabe@veg66 Thank you both so much. I think my mood was just the result of hours trying to find and work on one that made the building look half as good as it did in my head.
