This is from the elephant swim at the African Lion Safari, a large park where the animals roam uncaged and you drive through. I had no idea elephants could swim fully submerged. There are two elephants under the water in this shot.
Fabulous catch, Edie. We have one of these Parks--Lion Country Safari-- in South Florida and used to take our kids there when they were small. That was always quite an adventure to see them roam free from the comfort & safety of the car. I never knew that about elephants either --swimming fully submerged.
Oh WOW! That is amazing!! He almost looks like a lion under there. So crazy cool! We have talked about taking a drive out to one of those safari parks, but I don't think they have elephants. :)
@wenbow I'm so glad you noticed that! The trunks were under the water most of the time and I was desperately trying to capture that moment when it surfaced.
