Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold,
Her early leafs a flower,
But only so an hour
So leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day,
Nothing gold can stay.
Filler/Edit - I did this way back for the Madhatters @madhatters poetry week but decided to post the edit without the people because I didn't like this one. For some reason I like it now. Maybe I'm further removed. My Nan and my girls and myself, (missing one generation...my parents)
Anyway, the one without the people gets relegated to my 'other' album for now.
Beautifully done, Edie. I was just thinking of my grandpa and grandma last night. Writing down memories, looking at old photos and crying. It was pretty therapeutic. Thanks for this though...good timing for me:). Fav!
@amandal Thanks so much lady. I have no idea what prompted me to veto it for the only flowers one back in February. Probably one of those things where it didn't look how it did in my head. Now it's fresh with no preconceived ideas and I like it. It's so good to be close to your grandparents. As hard as it is to miss them. I'm glad you had last night because it means you had them close to you in life. xo
