This was the first Santa chat the girls ever had. I'm not really big on pretending he's real and they were always shy so we never really did the Santa/lap thing. Holes to fill though so here they are. This is number two asking for a real baby Night Fury. (Toothless, the dragon from How to Train Your Dragon is a Night Fury)
Santa was always low-key in our house. A stocking with a few goodies (nothing fancy) and ONE present. And it worked just fine. We went to see Santa once, when they were really little. I don't think they even remember but for the picture. I think it's how you as the parent present him. If you go crazy with it, so will they, and likewise in reverse. There's something fun about the fantasy in it and a good dose of imagination. But it can get nuts with the commercialism. Seems like you've struck a good balance and you should stick to it.
