“Champion the right to be yourself; dare to be different and to set your own pattern; live your own life and follow your own star.”
- Wilfred Peterson
My husband and I were both born and raised in the States, and last night we went to a birthday party for a Russian friend of ours. We danced. We laughed. We ate. We drank (well, he did…I was the designated driver.) It was fantastic to be able to experience someone else’s culture and have the guests so excited to share their language and food and customs and traditions. We were entertained as men and women recounted what it was like to growing up in the former U.S.S.R. It just made us appreciate how individuality is so import and how it really makes life more interesting.
I love this quote! We have a lot of Russian friends too, and celebrate with them, New Year's Eve being a HUGE deal. It's a lot of fun and there is so much to learn from others... when you hear about how life was (especially out side of the bigger cities) it can make you so appreciative of the small things.
Neat color and black/white treatment. Did you do this with photoshop? I'm going to have to get something better than the useless free editing software options I have at the moment.
