An experiment

We are having people over tonight so our day was mostly filled with errands and cooking. Not a lot of time for photos. As I was boiling water for pasta and thinking ‘wow, a watched pot really doesn’t boil’, I notice that the steam rising from the pot was really beautiful. I grabbed my camera and starting snapping away but didn’t really like any of the photos. I put the pasta in and ran out to snap a few flower photos. So here is the experiment…

The flowers are HDR. Then, I cropped the steam from the pasta pot and created a layer over the flowers. It was ok, so I created another layer and rotated it 180 degrees. All of a sudden, it looked like the flowers were glowing like lighten bugs.

What do you think? Cool aesthetic or completely over processed? Please be honest. My feelings won’t be hurt.
From my phone it looks cool. Way to be creative!

It gives the image a soft look with some vibrancy, plus it adds a nice element to your photo. :D
