People told me that parenting is the hardest job but I didn’t expect this…
I woke up at 3:30 this morning and was lying in bed when I heard my 18 month old son scream. My husband and I raced into his room to find him having a seizure. It was the most horrifying experience to watch my child shaking and completely non-responsive. My husband quickly called 9-1-1, and as he did, my son recovered and started crying. I was never so happy to hear him scream. An ambulance and the police quickly arrived and diagnosed it as a Febrile Seizure which sometimes happens to children when their fever spikes too quickly. After an ambulance ride, we spent the next few hours in the Emergency Room to ensure that it was in fact the correct diagnosis. Our son is definitely still not feeling well and his fever has not broken, but he took some medicine and is finally getting some sleep. I took this shot when we got home from the hospital this morning.
oh girl, I am so sorry to hear that. I can't even imagine how you felt. It is so hard to be a parent, in all kinds of ways. We get more joy out of it than anything, but times like these are the hardest to deal with. I hope he is going to be ok and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
OMG! My heart was in my throat upon reading what you and your husband went through. Poor dear baby! My thoughts and prayers are with you all and hope that your son recovers quickly.
Oh my gawsh!!!! I am so sorry to hear your son go through this and the same with you and your husband!! I can only imagine how terrified you all were!! I am SO SOOOOO happy to hear that things are better and nothing to too serious happened!!! Hugs :)
Poor baby... I'm so sorry to hear about this. What a fright for you and your husband! I hope he feels better soon... Such small little feet. Such a tender photograph.
My heart goes out to you and your family. I remember when my eldest was rushed in (for something else) when he was 18 months. All was good but the worry and fear is like nothing else. I'm so glad he's doing a lot better. HUGS.
horrible situation to be in - hope you manage to get his temperature down soon - my daughter used to get this horrible temperatures with ear infections and I used to put her in a cool bath with a ice lolly, as a treat - for as long as she found it comfortable
Oh my God!! I'm glad to hear your son is doing better, but can't even imagine the way you felt finding him mid-seizure! What a horrible story, but I'm glad it has a happy ending. Poor thing:( And poor YOU!!!
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry to hear you had such a scare! Nothing can ever prepare you for the fears and worries that come with being a mom. I'm glad you, him, and your husband are all right.
What an awful experience. I'm so glad to hear he's doing better and, hopefully, it will be the only one he ever has. Great photo, too. It expresses the emotions you were feeling very well.
