Today, hurricane Irene continued her trek up the East Coast of the US. It was a tough day today because we had our son sleep in our room last night, so neither me nor my husband slept well. Then, he got up early and was stressed because he was not in his room. We went down to the kitchen to eat breakfast, and while there, we saw a car rolling across our yard and hit my husband’s parked car. It turns out that the man that delivers the newspaper in our neighborhood was in a rush, put his car in neutral instead of park and it rolled down the hill into our yard. Then, he tried to back out and dug up our yard because the ground was so wet due to all of the rain.
We were extremely lucky because we had no damage or fallen trees and did not even lose power. It was so surprising since all of the surrounding areas had no power, flooding and lots of downed trees. However, we did have a long day in the house. My son and I do not do well when house bound, and he didn’t nap well this afternoon. Therefore, after the weather calmed down, my husband, son and I went for a walk on the golf course behind our house. Our son took his golf club and had so much fun running through the huge puddles on the course.
Z texted me saying that the two of you had such bad cabin fever that he felt he would fare better outside with the hurricane. Lol Glad lm had fun puddle jumping!!
Glad you weren't directly affected by the storm but the spin-offs weren't so nice... Tomorrow is another day! Your son is cute. He's got energy to spare, huh?
