My son is 19 months old and does not know how to use a blanket. Now it is not his fault…it is mine. Twice, when he was a newborn, I went to get him out of his crib, and he was under his blanket. I freaked and have put him in a fleece sleep sack to sleep in ever since. He is getting bigger and since manufacturers only make sleep sacks so big, it is time he learns how to use a blanket. We gave him his first nap with one today, and then, we had him sit in our bed watching ‘Mick’ AKA Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. This is an extremely serious and rigorous training regime consisting of relaxing, sleeping and lounging. Maybe I should take up blanket training!
Why doesn't parenting come with a manual? Who would have thought that you'd need to train him later? Good luck with it, he certainly looks contented enough!
How funny, I posted a blankie pic too today! When my son was a baby he loved to be swaddled in a sleepsack too. After he grew out of them around 4 or 5 months my Mom made some custom sacks that were bigger! Then at 6 months he wanted to bust right out of teh swaddle! now he's almost 4 and is obsessed with any blankie. Funny how every kid has their thing.....my 17 month old is attached to his pacifier.....hmmm, I wish he was attached to the blankie instead;)
what an adorable picture, I love how he looks! the best of luck with the training. I knew a boy who cut holes in his sleeping-sack to put his feet through, so he could still fit in it when he was four or five...
@cpmitchell If this one doesn't make you want to have a kid, I should definitely not post the ones I took the other day of a full on meltdown. Those would really deter you!
