My in-laws have graciously offered to have a sleepover with our son tonight so that my husband and I could enjoy a date night and a morning to sleep-in. We went to work this morning like normal, but on the way home, we were both a little sad that we were not going to get greeted by the little man. It is funny because being a parent, you rarely have time to do what you want, and at times, your child drives you nuts. However, when you actually do have time to yourself, you miss the little bugger. When we got home, his little black Chuck Taylors were lying in the hallway, so I had to quickly snap a shot before I got ready for my date with my husband.
It's bittersweet a lot of the time, isn't it? I sometimes complain that my son drives me up the proverbial wall with his wisecracks and stubborn attitude but, when he spends most of the day at school, I actually miss him and wish he'd come home sooner. *LOL* This is a cute shot yet, given the back story of how it came to be, I see that it has acquired a new sentimental quality. There is a feeling of longing and preciousness... and much love.
Beautiful shot of those cute shoes.
