A gorgeous January day by egad

A gorgeous January day

My husband and I took my son for a walk at our favorite walking trail since it was so warm for this time of year. It is funny because before we had him, we walked the loop in about 45-50 minutes. It took us two hours today. We stopped a lot to throw sticks and rocks in the water and on the ice. He was mostly good, but it was an exhausting experience. We came home and gave him a nap, and then, we both took naps ourselves.

This shot is of a pricker bush right near the water. I was overall disappointed with the photos that I took today. I tried some landscapes, but the sky and the trees were so uninteresting. This was the best of the bunch.

I posted an additional shot to my extras album:

Really love your processing on this one! Loved how your walk took 2 hours - what a difference but full of experiences and noticing the little things. ;-)

@kdimagery I have to tell you that your comment and Fav made my day. As I was processing this shot, I was actually thinking how the heck does KD get her shots to look like they do. I almost tagged you to ask you for advice but didn't want to put you on the spot. Thank you!!!

@egad awe!! i am SO GLAD my comment and fav made your day!!! that put a smile on my face!!!! i cant believe while you were processing your photo you were thinking about me and wondering how i do it with mine!! how neat!! lol. I always wonder how others process their photos bc i always think mine look SO BORING and uninspiring!!!! so to hear your words made my heart smile :) If you have ANY QUESTIONS you want to ask me, ask away!!! i dont mind at all, and it is the only way we can learn new things! besides, isnt that what this group is for :) To look and learn from others? I think it is anyway. But your not the only one...im always afraid to ask people for their advice, lol, however lately i have asked a couple people a couple things. I dont do anything special with my shots. My processing is NOT set in stone. And what i mean by this, is when i am processing, i am playing around SO MUCH with my shots, adding this, taking away this, playing with layers (somewhat layers...im not really good with those yet! haha) that by time i am done with my shot, if someone were to ask me what i did...i really have no clue! haha. I just luck out with what i get. I just keep playing and playing until i like my result. Most likely i will never get the EXTACT same processing ever again on something! haha. I dont write things down at all. I normally only ever use picnik for all my processing! since losing my ADOBE software when my computer crashed over a year ago, i have not had the money to replace it :( So i just make do with the purchased Picnik program off the internet. But if you have ANYTHING to ask me while your processing, or whenever, ask away :) I will help with whatever i can and i do not mind helping others at all :)
Wow....i really rambled on here!! lol. Sorry!! have a great day :D !!

@egad and by the way, i could really see this shot printed on canvas and then hanging on a wall adding a nice artsy fun look to a house :D I'd hang it on mine anyway! luvit.

@kdimagery Thank you so much for the kind words. I alwayys hate to ask becauase I know when people ask me there is no 'formula' that I follow and I don't want it to come across as me keeping secrets or techniques. I agree...I kind of just play until I like the way that something looks. Thank you so much for your support, and I will definitely as you if I have questions in the future. You are very generous.

I love the editing. Sometimes I do the same... actually lately I´ve been doing it quite a lot... edit pics that were not so good due to poor lighting.

The effect here make the pic pop... love how you textured the blue ;)
