Shadow by egad

Shadow

I bought some white gerbera daisies yesterday so that I could try to dye them different colors. So far, my experiment has not worked. After nearly 36 hours, the flowers are still white! What I did discover is that when sunlight hits the glass vases, the shadow is the same color as the colored water.

My alternate shot for the day can be found in my extras album...

Very pretty.. Did you cut the bottom of the stem ???

@cheribug I did. I cut it at an angle too figuring that would help...nothing. I don't know why these flowers are not thirsty!!

pretty light and shadow - I haven't tried gerberas, but I've turned daffodils and celery blue before now

White carnations is what you need! I don't think it will work with these...but maybe if you leave them for a long time the green will soak up. Nice picture all the same!

That's so funny that they didn't turn colors!! Well, frustrating, I'm sure! But I love the hard shadow that this makes!

Even though the flower didn't do what you expected, you made a great discovery with your experiment. Love the shot. Nice comp and great capture.
