It was time to transition M from his crib to a bed, and he was so excited. The mattress has been sitting upstairs in our office for the last couple of weeks, and he would visit it quite frequently. Tonight, my husband and I surprised him and brought it into his room. We ordered him special construction sheets and gave him a new book, "Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site", wrapped in construction wrapping paper (prizes to the first person who can guess his current obsession!). We called him to come up to his room, and he got the cutest smile on his face and immediately began jumping on his bed. My husband and I each took a turn reading the new book to him, and then we told him it was time to go to sleep. He said "put me in my crib", and I explained to him that he was going to sleep in this bed from now on. I told him to stay in bed and call me if he needed anything because I could hear him on the monitor. He smiled and laid in bed. We listened and didn't hear a peep. He fell asleep no problem.
@tctime Admittedly I did not push myself very hard on these shots and they are quite horrible technically. However, really what I am grateful for is my family. They are everything to me.
Absolutely love this and the story behind it...brought me back to when my twins got their big kid beds. My son's was a race car. I loved it so much that when he out grew it, it became part of our garden...a child's garden! :)
The memories kept growing as they planted and grew their own vegetables and flowers!
I can feel the excitement with M's transition into the construction zone...well done!
