I am having a rough time with my older son lately. Potty training is a failure, and it is really getting me down. He has been getting much better with how he interacts with his little brother, so I am trying to focus on the positive.
Such a lovely shot of the two of them... we toilet trained our girl last year and I honestly thought for a while she'd NEVER get there, she'd be 23 and still in a nappy! Once she decided she really wanted to be in undies like her slightly older friends we got there... now if you can tell me how to get rid of the night time nappy we'll be set! Good luck :)
He will get it eventually. My son was fully potty trained and then reverted and I had to give up (after feeling like I was going crazy) and go back to diapers again. A few months later and we were done. 6 years later and I have no more kids in diapers. It is amazing. That day will be there before you know it. Hang in there friend. And take a cute potty photo (I got a great one of Clara last year). Maybe you did, too, I don't remember. Hugs!
Children do these things in their own time.. often thats a case of letting them make the decision rather than us making it for them. We control their lives so much, that they like to control one or two aspects about it.. Sometimes if you take a step back and just drop the subject, they then think its a good idea.. Speaking from a professional and personal experience.. I used to work with mothers and run peer support programmes for military wives etc..

No child will be toilet trained until they are ready, unfortunately we as parents want it to be done on our timetable but that just doesn't work. I think if you relax and let it happen naturally, it will happen.
Ok... so here is my advice on potty training...it's pretty much my approach to everything about children timelines. "I'm sure they'll be (insert whatever) by the time they're 18." So far I've been correct every time! :-)
