Starting today, we enrolled our son M. in an extra day of preschool. He is about to turn 4, and we thought the transition to four days of school next year would be easier if he went three the rest of this year. The difference is that since I work on Mondays, my mom and dad would be doing pick up and drop off. This was causing a little anxiety for him. His teacher left us the following note in his backpack:
"M. did fine on his first Monday. I know he was a little hesitant to come in, but he joined right in and went to his favorite spot! And did lots of puzzles!"
We were quite happy that he adjusted so well today.
Glad to hear he settled in. I must admit to having cold sweats when I saw 'fine'... that the word generally means I've done something wrong. "How are you?" I ask my wife. "FINE!" is the answer.
I like your choice of the memory you want to capture for today - great to have a teacher who took the additional time to write a note letting you know your little man had a good day. :-) I imagine there was a little anxiety all the way around.
