The six colours of democracy

My understanding is that our South African flag is the only one in the world with six colours.
I don't think I've ever seen the flag of South Africa before ... interesting bit of trivia! Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it has the most block colours - intricate crests have more (eg Belize) but main colours South Africa has the most.

@Elizabeth - thanks for that info
@Denise - yes, IOU a beach picture. I did go down this morning, but none of the pictures worked for the theme. There will be plenty of white beach sand to come...

I didnt know that...wonder if my South African brother in law does :) I see your flag (along with a good many others) each day as they are flown all along 'Riverside' the main touristy part of Phnom Penh.

@Tanya: I get all emotional about flags! And the thought that you see ours daily in Cambodia is just too wonderful. All the flags we are seeing at the moment are for the countries that are coming to the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup. Vendors at the sides of the roads current have German, Spanish, Brazilian and Argentinian flags aplenty. Surprisingly we are not yet seeing the Union Jack and Stars and Stripes ... but they will come soon!

it's funny how we take these things for granted when there seem to be so many people who haven't even seen it before
