I took the picture at the "Fruit Table" at Butterfly World in Cape Town. These butterflies are native to South and Central America and live in a hot, humid climate.
This picture was a real "365" gift ... because it was only when I got home to process it that I saw the full magnificence of the wings. They are tiny, and move constantly so in real life you do not have the same quality opportunity to see the grain and texture.

This is truly an incredible photo. Wow! The detail on the butterflies is amazing. And how fun to see so many gathered together in one spot, and on an orange at that! Love it.
