It's facinating to see the number of magnificent sunrise/sunset pictures being posted on 365 at the moment - from all over the world. Does anyone know if this is related to the phase of the moon?
Originally started the project to improve my photography skills. Over a 2500 photos later it's become a personal diary. I post pictures that mark my...
Love this E. Really beautiful shot. Great balance between sky and silhouette. Maybe moon related, or may be the state of the environment mean it's hotter, drier and has more dust in the atmosphere. Whatever, nature is really showing off.
This is stunning! Are those mountains in the background, or just a low cloud bank? I can't get over how dramatic the sky is, especially the Jacob's ladders.
@Melissa: Yes, those are the Drakenstein Mountains in the distance. The picture was taken on the slopes of Table Mountain, looking across the Cape Flats towards the Drakenstein.
Beautiful shot. I do not know if it is moon related, but the moon does not give off light, it only reflects light so I would think it has nothing to do with the moons.
Gorgeous! I think 365ers are just better at spotting beautiful sunsets. i look most evenings to see if its a good one! Thanks for the Ladies Mile info. If/when I visit Cape Town I will know all the history thanks to you.
@ Tiina: they are Stone Pines, which come from countries around the Mediterranean, and are not local. There are big moves to get rid of all conifers because they burn so easily, and are a problem in wild fire management. I don't know if the Stone Pines are in for the chop!
Wonderfully peaceful picture. I love the endless sky getting lighter.
I haven't been around much. My daughter is home and will go to Germany for 2 years. I try to spend as little time as possible at the computer and most with her.
