Ncedile Daki's artwork

I spent the afternoon with Nomthunzie Swartbooi who runs a tourist business in Masiphumele. She takes visitors through the township, introducing them to the delights of life in Massi. It's a poor area, with many development challenges; it's also a rich and vibrant home for many. I saw this piece of art in the local library. Nomthunzie says the artist is a local school child.
Ok - I'm gonna ponder this a while ......

Not sure I know what this artwork means. I am with Glynnis, I will need to ponder what I am seeing! IV's feeding knowledge? Ha beyond me...

@glyn @seattle Well, I'm not sure either. My take was that it's a view of the future with HIV/Aids (the drops of blood). But I'm open to any explanation. I was particularly captured by this piece because it was not obvious. All the rest were totally predictable.

@eleanor agree with your take. Striking piece both in the concept, the realisation and awareness. Children don't miss much.

@eleanor I did not think of Aids but I like that take on it. Nice insight.

I think the life giving force known as blood, in the form of a transfusion has the ability, without education to reverse your future x Mmm well- either way -Bright Kid!
