I've been wanting to shoot star trails for some time, and never through that I'd get something this definite on my first attempt. I'm thrilled because I have discovered 'image stacking' which allows you to shoot star trails when you are in an area with more ambient light than would be practical for the traditional "open the shutter for three hours' technique.
So, angled up so that I could lie on the trampoline while re-clicking the camera every 30 seconds, this is how far the stars move over a period of 32 minutes. I stopped because a breeze came up, and I though the movement of the tree would spoil the effect.
Now, I need someone to put out the street lights so that I can try this facing south, and get one of those images where you see the star trails going in a circle!
