He had one. He was allowed to take the shot. I didn't have one and got evicted from Newlands for taking this shot!
I spent a fascinating morning taking pictures from the media balcony (thanks to a great friend's organisation). I don't really have the glass to do the venue justice, but it was a great learning experience. After lunch I got itchy feet and went walking, looking for different shots. Unfortunately an officious security guard, backed up by an armed policeman (WTF?!) saw me and asked me to leave the grounds immediately, or hand my equipment over. Goodbye Newlands.

I've seen the camera ban happen here stateside as well. And it so looks like he was taking a picture of that girl's butt. I would have left as well instead of handing over my camera.
