Wynberg station is a major interchange with a large train station and an unofficial taxi terminus. The resultant flow of people has drawn vendors of many persuasions. My favourite are the hot mielie (corn on the cob) vendors. Each vendor has a blue plastic drum with a lid. Inside the drum is hot water - and the corn cobs are being kept warm, ready to be served. This evening a fresh cob was selling for R7. Delicious fast food.

nice blue tones. street vendors sell freshly cooked corn here too but usually from carts on wheels with huge pots of boiling water on top of a coal fire set in the cart this looks much easier!
