I spend a lot of time at work training nurses to use this stuff, and I have the scars on my fingers to prove it.

Scars from what? Filter paper for what? More details for the ignorant, please.

@sbloom2 This is what we use to do capillary testing for lead poisoning. You stick a finger (hence my scars--I always do a demonstration for the nurses) and then drop blood onto each circle.
