This morning my wife was watering the plants in the garden and she noticed how thirst was making our garden lizards overcome their fear of human presence. She called me, made several puddles and sure enough they came out again to drink. This shot was not my first preference but my wife's favourite (ex science teacher who loves nature). This tiny creature was lapping water, quenching its thirst and I guess regenerating itself like all things when parched.
@busylady Thanks for your comment Judith. It is definitely not as big as a crocodile :) Its head (snout to inner ear- hole at the back of the head) is about 2.5cms. It's a lovely creature to watch even though it may be scary or serpentine for some.
A saying in Australia if people are super busy is 'I am flat out like a lizard drinking' ha ha.
