I came across these scratches on an alley wall way back in March. The plastered yellow ocher wall was wet from the morning rain. I liked the slightly textured wall, the cracking plaster, the tones and above all the scratch marks which reminded me of the cave paintings in Altamira. This was taken in Gozo which is known as the island of the three hills. So this must have been a caveman who depicted the landscape for posterity. I thought it would make an interesting abstract.
I really like this image. Something very primative looking about it. So neat your compared it to cave paintings. I was lucky enough to tour the cave paintings in Spain back in the '70's before they closed them off to tourist. These colors are very reminiscent to their pallet.
