The prime minister today announced March 26 general election, thus the election fever now sets in. Although the incumbent party, according to polls, is expected to win there is always hope that the silent majority decides to turn a new page. Another important date was announced a few days ago. Pope Francis will be coming to Malta for a two-day visit on April 2.
This morning I knew that the Opposition was holding a political rally in my town which I thought would offer a good opportunity for a couple of shots.
The one I chose to share shows a vendor with neckerchiefs of the opposition party and the flags of the Vatican. I was going to crop tightly the vendor but on second thoughts I included the guy who was pacing back and forth as if an important decision was on his mind. The picture also gives me the feeling of the divide that our island is always thrown into during the election period. Who is the main subject? A time to decide.
Great shot. Probably the guy is just waiting for the event to begin but he does look in a pensive mood. We have been waiting more than enough to know the election date.
