L-Isla - Senglea - Città Invicta (or Civitas Invicta)
L-Isla is the Maltese name for one of the Three Cities. The name Senglea comes from the Grand Master Claude de la Sengle who gave the city a part of his name. The middle flag bears the coat-of-arms of La Sengle. L-Isla is preparing for the feast of Our Lady celebrated on the 8th of September. The look out post (gardjola) in this shot is at the entrance to the city. At the other end facing Valletta is another gardjola which is more elaborate in design.
