1st of March 2015

Supposedly this is the first day of Spring - it is cold and raining very heavily!

This is the last day of my 'blue' week and this is 'The Blue House' in our Crescent. All the houses in the road are painted white or cream or even just left as they were originally built - apart from this one. The owner moved out for over 6 months whilst major renovations took place.

We have endured months of noise, upheaval, piles of rubbish, limited parking and towards the end of all of this - a dayglo blue house. Apparently this is to help taxis find the house but as they are all numbered and there are only 30 or so houses on this side of the Crescent that really isn't a good reason. We have some lovely neighbours and friends here but it only takes one person to behave selfishly and the balance is upset.
Oooh nice colour though. Our next door neighbour took it upon himself to ignore the planning rule re "in keeping" with the local area-result coloured tiles on the roof that now have to be removed!!'

@padlock Unfortunately our Crescent has no such 'in keeping' guidance and we do not live in a conservation area - we would have been onto that one like a shot otherwise (Colin has asked if this is the undercoat but they did not see the irony!).

I love the reflections in this picture. I though spring began at the vernal equinox, which is around March 21--this year it's March 20th. Is it different in the UK?
