6th July 2015

After a rather traumatic afternoon changing Colin’s phone and SIM card at Carphone Warehouse we walked back home along the river from Richmond. This is the old Star and Garter building that used to be the home of war veterans from the first and second world war. It has recently been sold and the big crane indicates the work being done to convert it into luxury flats. The war veterans have been moved into purpose built accommodation in Surbiton which is much more modern. It is a shame though.
I always like those photo from the 365 Project people you get the feel of the places of where people living (much more interesting than a pretty flowers....) Also like to show you someone do look at your work....

Lovely building, and it does seem a shame. But I'm glad that the veterans are being moved into purpose built accommodation and not being neglected!
