13th December 2015

Well here it is! Our Christmas tree up and decorated for this year. I simply cannot do ‘restrained/tasteful’ as I have so many decorations that I could not bear to leave in the boxes. My theme is a travel tree and nearly all of the decorations have been collected rom our travels around the world. Our newest decoration is a tiny couple of Peruvian people bought for me by one of our guides in Lima. I also have palm fish made by children in Angkor Wat, a sequined penguin from South Island in New Zealand, a wooden buffalo from Yellowstone and a ‘phalang mulai’ (good luck flower wreath) from Thailand, a small mole from Prague and a flock of little feathered birds from Brugge!! That's to name but a few...
Trees with character are better.

@danette I definitely agree, although I wish we had a house big enough to do a 'tasteful' one as well!

This to me is exactly what a Christmas tree should look like. Fav.

@tristansmum Hi there, I've just about caught up with posting. The beautiful hand painted baubles you sent me last year are on display on our tree… and I am about to put up my new wooden decorations which arrived yesterday - thank you so much. They are lovely, I hope a little parcel from me will make it to you before Christmas :-)

@emmadurnford You're welcome Emma, glad they arrived safely. Thanks for the most recent postcard too, and the parcel to come! I will be commenting on your other posts as soon as I have time. Merry Christmas to you and Colin and Brockley, and to all your family.

@tristansmum I really hope it arrives soon. If not - A very 'Happy Christmas' to you, your brothers and Mum. Brockley is being spoilt already and unfortunately has developed the art of begging and we've reinforced his bad behaviour with treats. For a hamster he is extremely manipulative!! :-)
