1st March 2016

Today we went to Richmond to do some more research for Colin’s family tree at the reference library. Colin has been working on this for quite some time and he has also enlisted the assistance of a woman who has managed to progress his tree back to around 1805. The task was to check many pages of microfiche to see if there was any mention of a particular wedding that we cannot find listed anywhere else. Unfortunately I got the task of checking the microfiche which is a lengthy and rather uncomfortable job (Colin’s neck is too bad... or that was his excuse!).

However to prepare us for this and as it was such a wet and chilly day we started off in our favorite cafe - ‘Alianti’. We have been coming here for years, great value, great coffee. We always have the same - hazelnut shortbread for me and a massive eccles cake for Colin, this morning with hot coffees.
Yes please

Looks like a great place. I can remember when my mother used to make eccles cakes. Did you find mention of the wedding you were seeking?
