24th May 2016

Oh dear, the dodgy weather forecast came to fruition today as it was heavy showers of rain for most of the day. Colin and I set off to explore some nearby villages and Richard and Anne stayed neared to the hotel, wisely perhaps. We visited Montalegre near the Spanish border and it rained. It was an interesting town with an impressive castle but not that impressive to photograph in the rain. We travelled around a bit further and then headed back to the hotel.

The rain eased and there was even a sighting of the sun. This is the bridge over the hotel lake which is full of very load croaking frogs. It looks a little like Monet’s ‘Waterlilies’!
