10th June 2023

We were up in good time today as we wee driving to Brighton and the Park and Ride to see Karen and Chris do their zip-wire experience that we had given them vouchers for Christmas and a birthday.

Traffic was not bad and the park and ride worked perfectly with me buying a days bus ticket on an app which all worked very well. There was a bus waiting when we wanted t leave and in just under half an hour we were in Brighton. It was so hot and sunny that we were forced to stop for a coffee and almond croissant in the Lanes. It felt like being abroad and there were literally thousands of people on the promenade and the beach.

Whilst waiting for Chris and Karen we caught an impromptu display of dancing by the Brighton School of Samba - brilliant. Eventually they arrived a few minuted before their ‘zip’. I must admit there was no way I would be climbing the spiral staircase up to the launch platform. Colin and I managed to locate ourselves pretty much under the wires and got some great action shots of Karen and Chris as they came down.

The temperature was getting hotter and hotter so it was time to head off to lunch in a shade area. We had found a Turkish restaurant online the day before so we walked the 25 minutes there and although I had phoned up to book we were the only ones in there. Despite this the food was excellent and especially the chilled home made lemonade - I had three!!

Then it was a slow walk back to the car where Chris kindly gave us a lift back to our car left in the Leisure Centre. Not so long a drive back as Tuesday returning from Wakehurst Place but still some unexpected traffic. A very nice day down by the sea and I caught the sun as well!
