Up early for the last free car service over in Epsom. I was a bit worried about the dodgy tyre from my almost literal run in with a white van a few weeks ago but in the event, it was not even noticed by the mechanics. We sat in the warm enjoying the hot chocolate and free wifi and luckily it only took an hour or so.
Then rather unexpectedly we has to head off to Welling in Kent on the M25 as it was Colin’s ex brother-in-law Jerry’s (husband of his ex-wife’s sister) funeral. It was quite a drive and I had thought ahead and discovered that there was a large Morrisons there with a big car park so we were able to park up and then enjoy a cooked breakfast - two with two mugs of tea for a total of £16!
It was at this point that the weather decided to hammer down with rain and after nabbing the last parking space at the crematorium, we had to sit in the car until it stopped hence the dark skies. The service was rather religious and it was somewhat strange mingling with virtually the entire of Colin’s ex wife’s family. However it was a good send off for Jerry and well over a hundred people people came to celebrate his life.
It was a long drive back but not quite as busy as going.
