23rd January 2013

Just as I thought the snow was going... it started sleeting again. As we hurried around London dipping in and out of cafes and shops trying to avoid the cold temperatures, I noticed these pigeons trying to huddle out of the biting wind on the tube sign for Embankment station.

It sums up today - cold and grey.
I know the sign all too well - and the pigeons! Lovely shot and no need to make it monochrome when it almost is in real life.

@steampowered Thank you - actually I have not tweaked the colour - this is in colour (pigeon droppings are slightly green ha! ha!)

@emmadurnford Yep! As I said "no need to make it monochrome" - I can make out the slightly pink breast on some of the pigeons.

@steampowered - whoops - sorry, I totally misread that, obviously agree - its such a grey place at the best of times! @barrowlane 365 telepathy? Wood pigeons are far more attractive although they do hoover up most of the food we put out on the bird table - smaller bird don't get a look in

This is such a fun photo. YOu really have an eye for catching the moment. The word embankment - their landscape. The color suits the mood.

@oconnor71 @pam1 Thanks all, I felt kind of sorry for the pigeons but also a bit annoyed that they weren't on the 'A' and 'T'!
