This is a face of a lovely woman who has worked so hard over the years. She is a good friend of our Thai guide and friend.

In her younger life she worked long hours raking and ‘harvesting’ salt from man-made pools of seawater in the Samut Songkhram Province of Thailand. As she became older the harvesting became too for her so she began to sell bags of salt at the roadside and this is what she does now in the heat of the sun - often in excess of 35 degrees. She was an excellent model and could not believe how white my skin was compared to hers. We were sharing this joke as I took her picture. (The detail is better when magnified on the black background)
What a wonderful face. Lovely shot Emma.
