7th May 2013

An exciting day today as I attended the official launch of the Gardens Festival 2013 - Arcadian Vistas at Orleans House Gallery.

I took the camera and the first sight was of a local school orchestra playing as the morning sunlight streamed through the windows of the Octagon room.
Oh darn, I wrote about this and did it again. Forgot to push push the post comment button. Love how you have captured the light so well. Enriches the photo instead of blasting it out which is hard to do when such bright light is dominating and contrasting with the dark Well done. Love how the light is throwing its own shapes across the patterned floor. The people in the orchestra are well lit too, not in shadow from the light.

Such a beautiful shot, love that gentle spring light. I love classical music and I always like the sight of an orchestra--it reminds me that there are situations in which people can get together for the purpose of creating beauty and doing no harm to themselves or anyone else. Fav!

@pam1 Pam, I read your comment to Emma, and thought I'd just say that I also sometimes forget to click on "Post Comment"--you are not alone! I'm trying extra hard now to remember to do it.

@pam1 @tristansmum Thank you both, Pam - I'm always doing that after having spent ages finding the right words! This was a lively surprise to find the orchestra here but was difficult to photograph. It was in the morning so the sun was not too high but I did have to post process a bit to lift the shadows and bring out the detail where the sunlight falls. I'm finding 365 is a visual diary for me as I d not keep a written one as such. Occasionally I'll try to be more adventurous and try things out - there are some great images posted by others for inspiration.
