10th July 2013

Out again this evening for one of my final greeting card shots. This will be a small part of a larger design I'm working on.

The building is called the 'Landmark Centre' and in a former life was a church built in 1889 with a design based on Notre Dame cathedral. I originally posted a photograph of the interior back in March ( http://365project.org/emmadurnford/365/2013-03-29). It is a great place as it is now used by everyone as it hosts exhibitions, concerts and wedding receptions. I tried 3-times to get the right light in the right place and I think this is the closest I'll get!!
It looks a very well built church and good that it is still being used. I'm surprised its not used as a church, though!

@maggiemae I think it was just too big to support a large congregation and there is a little church almost exactly opposite - St Mary with St Alban (1863). It was derelict for a number of years and a lot of the stained glass was smashed by vandals, but now it is restored it is a stunning space.

Love the mellow stone against the blue sky, and those delicate windows.
