15th August 2013

I love fireworks but I have never tried to photograph them before. On our last evening down in Cornwall with my Mum, we went to one of the weekly displays in August at Lands End.

I found my spot early on and practiced pre-focussing in the middle distance and then turning the auto focus to manual to prevent the camera searching for a point of focus once the display had began. I used a tripod and an ISO320 with a 10-second exposure and a remote release. Here are a few other attempts from my Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.594701280582557.1073741868.186301661422523&type=1

You took great pains and the result here is wonderful. I especially like the way you've shown the illuminated ground below, it really puts the whole thing in context somehow, fav for me!
