This is Montreal... a view from Mount Royal, the 'mountain' in the centre of the city that gives a fantastic 360 degree view of the city and surrounding countryside. This view is over the city towards the Old Port and the St Lawrence river. The autumn colours are also starting to show in the trees.
@maggiemae There are some great places to see although I think it is a city to be experienced - wandering, having coffees etc. to get a true feel. Should you ever get around to visiting and I know how far it is... I can recommend an absolutely fantastic apartment/B&B in a great area. It felt like a home for a few days. My school French is vey rusty, I cannot believe that I studied for 5-years and can hardly remember any of it!
This is a breathtaking view of Montreal, Emma. Did you find that a lot of people there were forunately able to speak some English? I was once in an area of Quebec where no-one spoke anything but French, and I was amazed how much of my school French came back to me, enough at least to survive in that situation.
@tristansmum Most people spoke very good English although unfortunately I speak more Spanish than French now! It really is like a mini France in Quebec and Montreal but with bigger cars and roads!!!
Looking forward to Friday afternoon!
