19th October 2013

Another damp day but we had a lovely walk along the Thames from our hotel into Oxford.

I always find it fascinating how narrow the river is higher up compared to Teddington. This is Iffley Lock built in 1632 and one of only three locks on the Thames to be built in the 17th century. Coming out of the lock are members of the Oxford university rowing club as this is the official starting point of Oxford rowing races.
A lovely shot - looks such an interesting place.

Oh that's lovely Emma, so serene, and English

@pamknowler It is a beautiful place on the Thames although a bit of sun would have brightened it up a bit! @maggiemae Even I thought it seemed really English - great to see all the Oxford rowing students as well.

Love the tranquility of this and the pov, also the goose and duck hanging out!

@tristansmum What is not shown in this photograph is the fact that it was so mild that I had hung my coat over my bag but when I knelt to take the photo it fell off in a puddle and also a lot of goose and duck 'deposits'!!
