Unusual Flowering

I've had this plant in my window for about 6 years. It was given to me by a friend who passed away last year. This is the first time I've ever seen it bloom and it's really, really weird! I still have no idea what kind of plant it is, but I love it.

Beautiful plant and I have seen one of these on 365 before. I believe it is a Hoya as Jane has suggested. Never seen one in real life though.
